/notsigned for we dont need more minipets, hell we dont need any minipets at all.

/notsigned because it would destroy the economy

and /notsigned because its totally impossible, implausible, expensive and completely not worth the time and money it would require from Anet to implement.

I think it might be a better idea for the molding clay to be used like signet of capture, where after you kill a boss, you activate the clay and it creates a mini. Although 250e might be a bit ridiculous, regardless

/signed, except for your idea of it being a low and random drop from any creature in the expansion. Rather, I would like to see a number of different items be put together from each region of the expansion or campaigns, sorta like the Black Moa was put together. That would be more of an exciting quest opportunity for us who don't have 250 ectos to blow.

Dante, I don't like your idea... People would recreate the Kanaxai mini and such, thus destroying the economy.

I would /sign for Shayne Hawke's idea, but not for the original poster's.

I love sardelac sanitarium....people just come here, look if there are more /signed or /not signed and join the stream. We have those crappy chaos gloves, why not molding clay now.

Only one bad thing in your suggestions: 0.05% drop rate is very high if you consider the fact that it would drop from any creatures (aka low level mobs); the farm would be easy and wouldn't cover the trading price. Drop rate should be more like 0.0001% :P

Oh and lol at Yoshikuni....it would destroy the economy...like if it's not already destroyed ;D

agreed. it's sad, no?

i changed the drop rate-- it was posted on the first page shortly after some else mentioned this. the new drop rate would be ~.00005% or so.

anyways, to everyone else: this is just an idea, NOT something i wish to be added in-game. it's just for fun and kicks; nothing more.

No. The existence of a Zahr Dalsk minipet would ruin the economy and shatter balance as people bid insane amounts of armbraces to get a miniature version of arrogance personified; me.

250 ectos is completely ridiculous, more minis isn't something we need especially ones that require such a huge amount of ecto. Btw Jonnie I can almost bet my life that you have stacks and stacks of ecto.

Sure minis are useless but no more so than elite armor or rare weapons. Why shouldn't we all be running around wearing Droks and swinging longswords? It would be boring as hell thats why. Variety is good, and minipets are a part of that. As for the price being too high.. please. 250e is far from unattainable for someone who sets it as a goal(I don't mean like in a week or anything) and actually knows how to make the cash. If you don't want to work for something that expensive, or can't figure out how make the cash, then you probably don't deserve something worth 250e. Go buy a fungal wallow. Nobody forces anyone to go farm ecto. As for the economy there are only a handful of items worth big money anymore. Go stand in LA for a while. Its already screwed. Minipets did not cause that.

I don't think charging ecto is going to work. What other vendor requires ecto to buy something? You'd have to make it a 0.0000000001& drop rate or something, because a vendor just isn't going to cut it for this.

I like the general idea, just not the implementation.

/signed,
lovely start for an idea, the best take so far on a mini yourself pet, but needs (economic) improvements.

I think it being a global drop with a not so low droprate wouldn't make it any elite. Yes, 0.005% is not really rare, dozens of them would drop every day, it wouldn't be worth more than 40ectos after a few weeks. Compare that to for example mini Ghostly Hero which drops maybe 1-2 per week or less. And what would be the best way to get it? Buying from clueless newbs in low level cities!

A possible solution to make such an 'elite' drop a worldwide one would be making it drop in Hard Mode only. Complete fresh newbies wouldn't randomly get ones this way. But there's one more issue - the mass solo farming. If it was a rare worldwide HM only drop, the vast majority of them would be found by the hardcore Raptor/Snowmen/Undead HM farmers, as they kill obscenely huge numbers of mobs per 1 person per hour. So maybe just make it a rare HM boss and chest drop only (different rates obv)? That also gives advantage to extreme solofarmers, just smaller.

I'd say make it affected by lootscaling to balance it out at least a little, and let it drop from any HM mobs at a 0.001% rate, and 0.005% rate for bosses and locked chests.

Now there's the second alternative method of obtaining it, working as a heavy sink for ectos, guaranteeing obtaining one at will at the right price. But that's really awkward to make an item available in both ways, if it drops and becomes more and more common, it's value decreases and the crafter price may be way higher than market price. Except when it's designed to be the main way of obtaining one, with the random drops being so extremelly rare

As for the cost of crafting, I think it should be high, include at least 100ectos (250 wasn't really that high, compare to market prices of the rare minis already in game) and it could possibly include less ectos plus some various others currently underused ingredients that could really use an additional sink, like Diamonds, Monstrous Eyes, or Clay Bricks

its a cool idea, but the main problem, like people have stated, is it would make it so there would be more grind. it should be equal when it comes to how you get it in pvp and pve.... or in pvp it will use what rank you are everyonce in awile and you only get it after rank 5 or something.

Think how rich some of the top gvg'ers could get by selling mini's of themselves

it also encourages grind

only if it copied your skill bar and used the skills in explorable areas, doing 5% of the normal damage and any degen skills maxed at -1 and could only knockdown other mini pets...
